Options

Checklists are a set of instructions that a technician goes through when working on a vehicle.

There are two checklist versions you can configure: Version 1 and Version 2. You can configure both on the Checklist Options window. Version 2 is the recommended checklist.

When you select Version 1 or Version 2, that selection applies to all checklists, both existing and new.

To Configure Checklist Version 2

NOTE: R.O. Writer recommends using Checklist Version 2 because it has more features than Version 1.

Complete these steps:

  1. Click the Configuration tab > Options in the Checklist section.Checklist Options window for checklist version 2

  2. Check the appropriate boxes; see the Checklist Version 2 Settings table below.
  3. Click Save. Checklist Version 2 is the only checklist available for DVI.
    • All checklists now use the Checklist Version 2 format automatically.
    • The Groups setting appears in the column of configuration settings on the Configuration tab.

The following table describes the settings for Checklist Version 2.

Select the version of the checklist you want to use for all checklists: 1 or 2.

Your selection applies to all checklists, both existing and new. You do not have to convert current checklists to the version 2 format; it happens automatically.

Items Displayed By Default

Select the items to display by default. Each item appears as a specific color on the checklist:

  • Urgent = Red
  • Warning = Yellow
  • OK = Green
  • Other = Blue, gray, or black

A summary of the number of items in each color appears at the top of the customer checklist.

Send back a message when checklist is viewed

Check to receive a notification in SmartStatus when the customer opens the checklist from a text or email.
Include Service Writer Image

Check to display the service writer’s profile photo on the checklist.

This is the same as Checklist Version 1.

Include Technician Image

Check to display the technician’s profile photo on the checklist.

This is the same as Checklist Version 1.

To Configure Checklist Version 1

R.O. Writer recommends using Checklist Version 2.

NOTE: The Checklist Version 1 settings were removed from the Configuration tab because Version 1 is no longer available in DVI Suite 6.0. Only the Checklist Version 2 settings appear because it is the only checklist version available.
