Feature List
R.O. Writer DVI Suite includes the features listed below to simplify your day-to-day business. One of the main features is role-based configuration. You define the features each user role can access. This feature page is broken down by user roles.
Devices
R.O. Writer DVI Suite uses the following devices:
- Computers install, configure, and use DVI Command
- Android smartphones and tablets use the R.O. Writer DVI app
- iOS smartphones and tablets - including iPhones and iPads - use the R.O. Writer DVI app
- Devices can be limited to the local shop network only or accessed from anywhere via the Internet
Service Writer
- Start new estimates and repair orders
- Search for customers
- Scan the barcode on
- Customer loyalty cards – A new repair order is created for the customer and vehicle on the card
- Previous repair orders – A new repair order is created for the customer and vehicle on the from the previous repair order
- Oil stickers – A new repair order is created for the customer and vehicle; the correct oil change labor is added, which includes oil type, viscosity, capacity, and oil filter
- Add new customers
- Search for a vehicle by plate, VIN, or Unit #
- Add new vehicles by scanning VIN or QuickVIN lookup (plate to VIN)
- Use R.O. Writer service requests, tap, or talk to text
- Auto-post jobs and checklists
- Add QuickJobs to estimates and repair orders
- Assign technicians to jobs
- Set goals and see results for the number of repair orders, average repair order sales, and total sales
Service Writer and Technician
Service writers and technicians can:
- See all parts and labor on the repair order
- See the number of labor hours per job
- See the part number, quantity, if the part is stock or non-stock, and if non-stock parts have been ordered
- Add technician notes to labor operations
- Attach an unlimited number of pictures
- Draw on pictures for emphasis
- Attach an unlimited number of videos
- Videos include audio and can be up to 10 seconds long
- Change the repair order status
- View, add, and edit customers, vehicles, and repair order notes
- View R.O. Writer repair order history
- View R.O. Writer repair order declined parts and labor
- View R.O. Writer recommended services
- Access the CARFAX QuickVIN history
- Access the QuickVIN plus vehicle attributes
Technician
Technicians can:
- Clock into or out of the employee time clock
- See only the assigned labor
- Clock into or out of jobs in the labor time clock
- Mark jobs as Finished
- Use digital vehicle inspections
- Unlimited number of inspections
- Unlimited number of inspection items
- Unlimited number of conditions for items
- Add notes to inspection items
- Add pictures to inspection items
- Draw on pictures for emphasis
Workflow Features
With DVI Command and the DVI app, you can:
- Use up to 10 user-defined workflow statuses in SmartStatus
- Drag and drop to assign technicians to repair orders
- Create text messages that are sent to customers automatically when a ticket is moved to a step
- Text customers as needed
- Receive texts from the customer
- Notify the service writer when the checklist has been completed
- View and edit checklists
- Email, text, or print the checklist for the customer
- Add service writer and technician pictures to checklists
- Add labor to the repair order based on checklist conditions
- Text the checklist, repair order, pictures, videos, and animations to the customer
- Add MotoVisuals/Virtual Vehicle animations to the checklist based on checklist conditions
- Auto-push notifications to the technician at each workflow step
- Send notifications to technicians as needed
- Send notifications to all technicians at the same time
